Campaign Update

I just wanted to post a quick update and let everyone know how the campaign has been going. I’ve knocked on over 500 doors in the last few months and it’s been a great experience. I found that so many of our residents don’t feel like anyone is listening to them. That’s why I’m running – not to push an agenda, but to listen to the people of James Island. If you want to learn more about the candidates I’d encourage you to come to the candidate forum Thursday evening from 7-9 at the James Island High School. You’ll be able to hear from all the council and mayoral candidates.

As we move into the final few days I’ll be out knocking on more doors and putting up more signs. If you need one for your yard be sure to call and I’ll bring one right over!

James Island Budget

Carter McMillan, candidate for James Island Town Council, released a statement today condemning Mayor Clark and the James Island Town Council for not passing a budget ahead of the June 30 deadline. “The budget deadline has been on the calendar several months, and it’s completely irresponsible for a town of 20,000 residents to not have a budget in place” said McMillan.

Despite numerous attempts and meetings regarding the budget, a consensus was never reached. McMillan reacted by saying: “It’s clear that change is needed. It is truly disappointing as a citizen that the Mayor couldn’t get a budget passed on time. I’m running to bring common-sense values to town council so we can get things accomplished on-time, and without personal squabbles clouding the process.”  Carter McMillan is running for James Island Town Council.
